Murakami is so cloying that he makes Jeff Koons’ work seem sobering.

“Glorifying ‘otakuism’” gee, what a brilliant comment. Why are you calling that stuff nerdy like it’s something bad? Care to define nerdy?
It’s art.
If you want to take issue with anything here, get mad that Louis Vuitton charges such rediculous amounts of money for their frivolous products through the medium of anime.

Are you SERIOUS? These guys are CRAZY lol. They think they are hip for buying into OTAKUISM? Don’t get me wrong guys, I’m a goddamn otaku I’ll be the first to admit it. But jesus, this **** gets narvs like me ostracized. They are trying so hard to glorify it that it’s hilarious. Murakami is creative but good lord… they’re trying to pretend nerdy design is popular. It’s sidesplitting humor.

Murakami is the modern Andy Warhol, I’m jealous. Also cool that the had shots of Hiropon and Lonesome Cowboy, I figured they’d be to prudish.

I imagine we are going to see more of the artist-designer collaborations. Prada’s most recent fashion show showcased designs inspired by a famous cartoon artist.

The host came to my school’s art show in 2005 because her daughter used to be a student there.
She was a nice lady
